Toyota Sienna forum

Can someone recommend an active and informative Toyota Sienna forum? Thanks.

Two I can think of:

1) Toyotanation.com has a Sienna section. I've used it once before and gotten a helpful response. Sienna Forum - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

2) There is also SiennaChat.com. I have an account there but have never used it. Toyota Sienna Forum - siennachat.com

Both forums seem to average a couple of threads a day... unfortunately, there aren't a lot of DIY Sienna owners. Siennachat.com does have a bunch of helpful DIY guides.

I was going to suggest ToyotaVanPeople and ToyotaVanTech but they focus on the older models (Previa and older).

2004. The driver checkstrap cup is broken clear off and the power right slider doesn't work. Other than that it seems to be in decent shape.

Interesting, hadn't heard of the checkstrap cup issues before, but googling it does get a bunch of results.

We also have the broken rear power sliding door -- what usually happens is the cable that actually moves the door rusts and snaps. Unfortunately, Toyota only sells the complete mechanism, which costs $400. If you are lucky and the frayed end of the cable has not grenaded the cartridge (this can happen if the motor is worked a bunch with the broken cable), you might be able to replace it with an appropriate bicycle cable, as some on the forums have. The plus of this method is that you can install a much more corrosion-proof cable than the OEM, so that you hopefully don't have to deal with the problem again.

2004 is a timing-belt engine with a 90k service interval, so you'll want to make sure that's been done.

We've certainly been very happy with our 2008 -- bought it with 30k, now it has close to 165k and so far we've only had to do the front wheel bearings and two O2 sensors (2007+ don't have a timing belt).

Ha, tell that to ours. They only break less often.
