No interest, I rather spend that kind of cash on a boat. Far more useful.

The problem with a car like that around here is:

1. Our roads suck, you will be cracking wheels. That CF lip? Yeah that's gone, just cut it off day one. You will learn all the wonderful sounds CF belly pans make as you bottom it out all the time, crunch!
2. Our roads suck, someone will hit it, or a rock will fall out of a truck and hit it.
3. You can't park it anywhere, its a point A to A car.
4. You won't be able to drive it anywhere without people bothering you.
5. Cops are everywhere generating revenue; as are the elderly so you will be driving 35 in a 40 behind the Toyota Avalon with FL plates.
6. Even at the price point, you will be sitting in I95 traffic.

No thanks.

4400 pounds. It's heavier than I would have figured.

Obviously buying a car like that is not something one thinks about practicality when considering.

Bah on the Veyron - too extreme - I'll take a tour of the Napa Valley area in a top-down Ferrari Daytona.

Now you're making me feel self-conscious Tom. I guess I have to go a bit more low-key, like a 365 California...

I can think of soooo many more fun ways to spend $3m!

That's just about enough to run a racing campaign on a 50-60 foot sailboat for a few years!

You have learned well. I am proud. As Jim would have said: It looks good outside a single's bar.

Good grief. I should have known better.

I never said I wanted to buy one. Just wanted to drive an ultra high performance car for an hour, scare my self senseless and move on. I would no more want to spend million on the Bugatti than I would on a rare Ferrari or some money pit that floats on water. The same argument would apply to all of those items.

Would I wan to drive a 365 Cali...sure. Would I want to own something like that? What the hell for. Cant really drive it because the depreciation would be insane. Scratch it or get in an accident....just blew a few million in value. Sink millions into a floating money pit that 99% of people use occasionally? Why? Would I want to drive a high power speed boat of hang out on a luxury yacht for a bit.... sure. Own one... no freaking way.

No idea why people cant just appreciate something for what it is and leave it at that. I see a few low riders with outrageous paint jobs around here. Would never want to own one as it is not my taste. How ever I can see the artistic efforts that go into them and the technical aspect and I can appreciate them.

The Bugatti is a faster than snot car. I would love to know what it is like to do 250+ mph while cosseted in leather and carbon fiber while listing to some cool tunes on the radio. Why that cannot be accepted at face value and left at that is beyond me. This after all a car forum.

Let me submit something a little more down to earth for those who are repulsed by the Veyron's excess:
