A buddy of mine bought three of those and made one after welding in a zillion patch panels. It looks very nice now. At the time he did It they were were worth jack all. Now they are probably worth enough to justify a restoration.

They can still be had pretty cheap. I love them, personally. Lots of style! Man are they tiny though, I'd feel a bit claustrophobic on the highway.

Weren't there two versions? The Fairlady and another one, as I recall it was maybe a little sportier or faster or something.

I kinda have the itch to buy one and drop an hot SR20DET into one.

~250HP in something that small and light would be a riot to drive!

I remember going with my Dad to pick up his brand new '66. We spent a lot of Sunday mornings tearin' up backroads.........

the one here didn't need any patch panels, the quarters and cowl are solid texas stuff, which is why its a shame, and I don't even like anything jap except old Toyota pickups and 240-60z's, you see an old z in the boneyard--they are rusting thru the wheel well lips here.

There was a 1600 and a 2000. IIRC, the 2000 had a five speed and was essentially a 240 Z engine minus two cylinders. Regardless, I'd dig having one, neat car. I'd park it in my fantasy garage right next to the 2.5 liter Trans Am Series Datsun 510.

One of these got me started on my current old-car run. It was on ebay and local to me. $2500 buy it now. Was a bit rough, but workable. Was going to buy it regardless of it being a two seater and me having a budding small family. By the time I got around to contacting the seller, it was already gone. It's OK. I'm in a W115 now, and the whole family can enjoy the ride.
