Warming up my engines for a USA tour: "CURATOR ON THE GO"

Hello everybody!
Being a car museum curator, I asked you for good car museum recommendations, and ever since then, I have been working on a detailed map of car museums all over the world.

Plotting all those car museums have me the idea of visiting as many as I could, in order to learn from the best and be able to apply that knowledge at the car museum I was working at. But soon after I quit due to unfair and illegal practices by our management, the idea became bigger: why not start a museum from scratch? And so, the idea snowballed until I came out with a campaign called "Curator on the Go".

Much like the previous road trip with Newport (82 300TD) meeting Peachparts members, Curator on the Go will make 80 stops in select car museums for a total length of 6 months. Yes, six months on the road! Despite a tight visiting schedule, I'd like to open the door once again to meeting more members of this community, if possible.

Here's a link to the information and fundraiser page. Additionally, here's a link to the route, detailing each museum I'll be visiting.

If you have any last-minute suggestions, I'll be most happy to consider them and add them to the route. I have some "break" periods to use as "padding" to keep a strict schedule in my visits, should I decide to take a detour or have a breakdown in the car.

Looking forward to this one!

Route here, plus a list of each stop:

So far I have confirmed interest with RamonaJim, TX76513 and H-townbenzoboy (who might hold a GTG in Houston!).

You should add the Forney Museum in Denver since you're going to be in the area. And surely you should take in Car Henge in western Nebraska.

Thank you everyone! Kerry, I might not be able to make it to Carhenge, but the Forney sure is a great addition. Thanks for the suggestion!

Forney Museum of Transportation

Carhenge ョ | of Alliance, Nebraska
I have been to the Forney. It's in an industrial part of town but that just allowed it to not only have autos and motorcycles (lots of motorcycles) but also a real Union Pacific Big Boy.

And don't forget to mention the stage coach's they have. Some amazing 1800's tech on display.

They also have the best Honda Dream I have ever seen on display. The great thing about the Dream was it put Honda on the map in the US as the first 'consumer friendly' motorcycle.

Well, Switzerland has the Monteverdi museum... it's a matter of time, then.

Looks like the closest museum I'll visit will be the Larz Andersen Museum in Massachusetts; thought about the New England Auto Museum but time is VERY tight!

BTW, I did not know the campaign was features on Motor Authority. Making progress! Hopefully Petrolicious will be next: Motor Authority

Mr Sterling McCall had a very nice museum near Round Top Texas ,it looks to be a fit for your scheduled visit between Houston and San Marcus Delibes ,I highly recommend it.I beleive Joe and his Dad had an event many yrs ago out to the Museum ,you can ask him also on its location and cars that might interest you in the collection.UPDATE Mr McCall pasted away in 2013 ,Im not sure if its still open after reading updates ,sure hope so, it was decorated with some really rare and nice examples of cars from an era gone by.The link above has a way to view some of these cars I just mentioned.
