Sweet baby hauler, and MB is continuing the trend of making the E class a more sporty platform.

I like it. I might pick one up in a decade (when I can afford one). I wish we could get them with a diesel and 2wd.

X2. If they want to get a taste of a market segment that would buy this stuff for a family, pricing the thing affordably would be wise.

x2

My favorite Mercedes Benz have always been the wagon versions. First an 85 300TD and now the 05 E320 wagon. I hate I sold the 85 year model.

I like everything stylistically except the tail lights....looks like an old Saab or Ford.

FWIW, there is no downside for 4wd MB vehicles, even if only used on rainy roads. Their capabilities on snow/ice is nothing short of awesome, providing, of course the tires are suitable for the task. The 4-matic system is not only obnoxiously reliable but keeps getting better and better.

MB seems to be moving steadily away from the use of diesels in passenger cars. This is kind of odd given that they frequently hold their value far better than a comparable gasser.

That's good to hear regarding reliability, I've never owned one. I'm just thinking from a personal maintenance standpoint...the transfer case, extra diff, and front axles are bound to complicate things. Since we get very little snow and ice here I doubt I would miss it. At least I know that it shouldn't sway me if a car I'm looking at has it in the future.

I don't care for the CLS much, but that's a beautiful looking car. It would most likely be even more stunning in AMG trim.
