Dos Equis: new "most interesting man in the world"

After they shipped the old geezer to Mars, they had to come up with someone..

After Tease, Dos Equis Debuts its New Most Interesting Man | CMO Strategy - AdAge

I liked the other guy better. This guy doesn't have it. I predict the campaign, charming though it has been, will soon be over.

I liked Jonathan Goldsmith better in spite of his fakey Spanish accent. XX is crappy beer anyhow. I'll take Negra Modelo any day.

Howdy All,
I encountered Jonathan Goldsmith when I was coming out the gate at work one day. I see this guy walking along the road towards me. He looked at me and smiled and said hi! I said Howdy and drove by. I didn't get down the road too far before I realized who it was. He was shooting a commercial at my neighbors place. At that moment he was looking at all the neat stuff on the property.
Fake accent, The new guy is a French actor lol

Gag me with a spoon! It was horrible before, especially the stupid slogan (I hate being thirsty), and now have to suffer some more with this.

B.T.W., dislike the smell of alcohol, especially beer. Do drink meed as the sweet honey and spices masks the smell and the alcohol reduces mucus buildup. Just really hard to get meed though.

Not my favorite beer but one of my favorite commercials. I thought the 'stay thirsty, my friends' was great wit, sort of a play on being hungry for life, for adventure, whatever. Staying thirsty meaning you will always be able to enjoy good beer.

Goldsmith was getting up in years but he had a vigor to his eyes and vibe. The fact of his age and ladies still being drawn to him was part of the gag about how overwhelmingly interesting he was. They used a younger actor that looked surprisingly like him in the action shots of his previous glory.

The way he said "Stay thirsty ..." had a coolness about it that this new guy sure doesn't have at the moment.

I will agree that anyone who's had a beer, several especially, has a breath stink that's hard to take unless you have also drank one. Should be an unwritten rule that if kissing is going to take place, both need to drink beer or neither should.

I think the new guy may be an attempt to expand the market to Europe. I am sure he can do commercials in French and perhaps other languages and I would be he can act better in his native language.

I did love all the wacky things the guy could do. Parallel parking a train is my favorite, although when in Rome they do as he does is also nice.
