America has never had so much TV, and even Hollywood is overwhelmed
Very interesting read about the rocket like rise of new locations for making entertainment

Had an antenna problem and didn't care enough to fix it. Recently hooked up rabbit ears and get 24 or so channels. It is way too much crap.
TV has created a new reality that is not a place I want to know. Political Correctness is tyrannical mind control. |

So many channels available in commercial television today. Yet so little that interests me. Even the wife watches nothing other than a few specialty channels.
Her head seems stuck in her laptop on social media these days at times. |

There is so much film work there because the state offers generous incentives. This is tax money well spent since every dollar spent in the state multiplies by at least five times as it passes from one business to the next.
The Georgia Film Commission even managed to lure Pinewood Studios to build a few soundstages there. Most states now have some sort of film incentive package to offer but none seems to be as sure and steady as Georgia. Texas once had a robust film industry thanks in part to state incentives, but when Texas decided to bail on a contract with a film maker, after the film was finished and state incentives were due, the business there just vanished. Location shoots are also cheaper in Georgia. Sites are available for far less money than in LA. And the weather might not be as nice but that's not really the big deal it once was. The main reason the film business moved to LA (It was all in New Jersey during the teens.) was the free lighting via sunshine and the ability to shoot outdoors year round. |

I honestly get 100x the enjoyment when starting up my old Betamax/CED Selectavision players that are hooked up to my 1984 RCA tube tv and watching a good ol 80's flick..
