Got the iCarsoft MB II scanner -- fantastic!

Christmas arrived early! I'm very impressed with the tool!

At first, it did not allow for any transmission info other than error codes, but once updated, it gives a bunch of values to be read, INCLUDING TEMPERATURE!! So Update it!

I have access to a ton of different modules in my W211 including climate control, all interior lights, radio headunit, brakes, airbags, steering and more.
It likely for most of us here, anything we would need it to do without having to screw around with the STAR C4 clones. (I'll still likely get one eventually, but this will do almost anything I'll likely need!)

$125 on amazon and definitely well worth it! Those cheap OBD2 bluetooth units can't touch what this thing will do by a long stretch.

I paid $160 for mine when I bought my CDI a year and a half ago. Diagnosed and fixed an SRS light issue for less than the dealer wanted for Diag. alone. Great tool.

How did you update it? I have never tried to update mine.

It was a piece of cake - just follow instructions on their website. You update via their tool and the MicroSD card it uses

Are these worth it for W211s?

Would like to hear more information about actually using one of these? Are they worth the investment?

An MB tech told me the W211 could be programmed using a Star system. I know this does not allow for programming but has anyone used a star system to adjust systems in their vehicle?

I am wondering if you can activate the drive dynamic lights to behave as they were designed to in Europe ;-)
