Heard this and want to read more about it. This is a reminder for me and maybe others will find it interesting.

The Prussian system replaced the one-room school house? When?

Why can't we take the best ideas from around the world? (Not saying this is one of them) People act like if it is from another country it can't be as good.

If we could dump the public sector unions and the lobbyist's stranglehold on policy what would the next education system be like?

Did lobbyists for textbook companies change our world?

I hit on this site because of the article in the link. What about the rest of the site? Where is this coming from?

The institution paradigm we use today serves the budget of the bureaucracy. Not the children.

I wish we had uniforms in all public schools. It would cut down on bullying by thoose who can't fit in.

The district where I work has about 33 percent of the schools uniformed, the ghetto ones, and the rest not. At least what passes for a uniform in Arizona. I agree too that uniforms should be mandatory.

yes like basic training where everyone looks the same,it cuts down on harrasment.I also would like to see a type of insurance,or mandatory 2 teachers in a class . I would be afraid to teach school because of false witness. Teenagers can have criminal minds.

For educations systems to work you need to have parents willing to put some boot to the Students and discipline in the class room and school grounds. Both seem to be in short supply now.

This has certainly vanished from public schools "...religious (Christian) education in close cooperation with the churches and tried to impose a strict ethos of duty, sobriety and discipline."
