Nice car. Nice graceful lines. Its righteous money but perhaps worth it.

Pontiac of course had straight eights in their lineup. I just did not realize that long ago.

The grill looks really pretty straight and intact. All too many survivor cars from back that far have damaged ones. I wonder if anyone will bite at 16K?

On the other hand if that concerns you it is better not to bite. Because that one is really going to suck money unless you basically leave it as is with new running gear. Even then you wil need some pretty deep pockets.

It'd be a nice driver as is. If you want AC though where do you stop? It kindof represents what I was originally going to do with my Studebaker but once in the midst of it it was difficult to stop making things nice.

I sniffed around the pricing of some modified very old cars lately. Some are relative bargains in comparison to the cost of constructing them now.

This car jogged my memory--that emblem at the top of the grill ~kinda looks like the indianapolos speed way logo.......
I have a pic of my dad posing in front of another 33 coupe, owned by...
I don't know if it was my grandpa's

Its around 38--the yr rain came back to the dust bowl - Perryton Tx. So dad is around 15 at the time.
There was a Buick , Olds , Pontiac, GMC dealer in town, I have posted more than a few pics of dad with the 37 GMC --that must have sat on the dealer floor for several yrs before they got it. It turned out my GMC collector thing is a family tradition, Grandpa always used GMC's in the family produce buis, I was the last of his 9 grandchildren - and born on his birthday.
I collect / supply /and create 30's gmc stuff for other afficianado'z
1937 GMC Truck grill ornament Art Deco brightwork pickup | eBay

I don't think anyone had the money for a Cadillac in Perryton, I cant figure out where they got the money for the GMC pickup - called an express back then in 37.
The two different series about the dust bowl , American Experience and Ken Burns series, all the towns around were mentioned , Spearman , Shamrock ,Pampa, Perdell , Except Perryton -- on hwy 83 5 miles south of the top pf Tx-and the OK Cimarron strip.

according to mapquest about 20 miles east of st louis.

I had a couple of those pontiac straight eights about 35 years ago. They weren't too bad but really not a great engine. The straight 8 exhaust note was distinctive.

My earliest was a 1950. I think the babbit bearings were phased out before ww2.
