New Nascar format
I'm not crazy for Nascar but made it a point to try and watch the Daytona 500 today. They've split the race into 3 stages, with copious use of the caution flag between them. There's also a new rule where you have to fix your car within 5 minutes of having an accident. Sounded like these are going to be the rules for the entire season.
Terrible terrible...the planned cautions ruin all momentum and excitement of the race. And it's not just a lap or two, I think it's 4 on each end. Guess Nascar has to get its advertising dollars in somewhere. Anyone watch the race today? Thoughts?

I did not watch, and have not since I tried to buy two tickets for a race in Joliet IL a decade or so ago. I was told you cannot buy two tickets for one race, you have to buy four tickets for every race held there that season.
It gave me great pleasure reading that the tracks are eliminating seats to give the appearance of a full house now. No thanks on being their marketing arm unloading the dozen or so tickets that I did not want. |
