Dodge Challenger Demon

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon - #ifyouknowyouknow

Having successfully bought a decent number of cars through Copart, I am hoping to see one of these pop up in 2018. Might be worth completely liquidating all MB stuff to generate funds towards a Demon ...

That thing is a BEAST! Hopefully when people buy it they will pay for the passenger and back seat which are a option. Yea cost a whole extra dollar LOL

For less than 10% of the costs for one of the exotics yet superior spec's, it is "The Beast" ...

I dont get the appeal of this car. Sure it's fast of course, but why not build up a fox body or something for 20% of the cost? I would bet most of these challengers get bought and put in garages for 30 years with the hope they appreciate someday.

I bet if Greazzer liquidates all his Mercedes diesel stuff to buy one it would be a unique situation.

Although driving a diesel day in and out could drive you to consider such things!

I wonder how the warranty works on it. From the link, it must have a trans brake
which locking the trans in reverse then instantly shifting to low under even medium throttle is not conducive to problem free operation.
The ad/link looks like they are trying to sell it people that do not care for details, no mention of 1/4 mile times, top speed, etc.etc.
I hope your not liquidating your diesel injector rebuild equipment for this.

If It got one, it would have CC insurance and only driven occasionally. So far, the Copart ratio has been around 1:4 for anything with an ACV over $6,000.00. So, I am looking at needing somewhere around $25-$30K and something which does not look like an accordion ....

Plus, I would chip in the buck for the passenger and back seats.

My son's 2014 Challenger with V6 is incredibly nice and a great deal through Copart. To his credit, he still has less than 25K on the clock.

Going to buy one, hermetically seal it, and place it in my garage next to my 1976 Eldorado Bicentennial Convertible - the last American convertible...

This is a car set up for the drag strip, including suspension tuning to promote weight transfer to the rear to facilitate a good launch. Don't know how friendly that suspension tuning will be on a two-lane country road at extra-legal speeds.

Get a Hellcat. It already has more horsepower than that chassis has a right to carry, and can at least consider staying on a curve...

Did y'all note the refrigerant cooled charge? Puts a whole new light on a/c issues. I'd be curious to see the hp change with the cooling and without. I imagine it is at least 50 hp.

I think the trans brake is all hydraulic. When it is released you are just dumping the hydraulic lock.

A bunch of vehicles out there have way more power than you could ever get to the ground. "Spinning your wheels" is not a euphemism for success.

The trans brake locks it in reverse and first at the same time. It releases reverse to launch. Not as traumatic as believed.

Quarter Mile 9.65 at 140 mph
0 to 60 2.3 seconds

I'm thinking this would be a blast to drive price should be between 70,000 and 100,000 to rich for my blood! they will make a total of 3,300. 3000 for the USA and 300 for our neighbors up North.

More exciting to drive a slow car fast then to drive a fast car slow.
That's what I always say
MB Diesel all the way!
