Cool looking! Reminds me of those gigantic Duesenbergs with two seats and a short coupled body.

Is there a market for a $200,000 car that is a speedster with a 750 hp electric engine but has only a 200 mile range before the battery must be recharged?

Maybe, without the gaudy what 22" wheels low profile tires, and tiny steering wheel.

Howdy ESchawb,
Yes! The people that buy it will be driving from either their home in Beverly Hills or their Malibu home to Rodeo Drive. No mileage worries there ;-)

I guess the car will also give them claim to being environmentalists.

I guess if I wanted and could afford such a car it would need at least a hybrid with gas or diesel capabilities.

Having spent a fair bit of time around people with $200k-500k cars, I don't think any of them have ever driven more than 100 miles in a day. Most do less than 5000 miles a year. A good quality battery tender is far more important to them than range.

A bit much. 750 electric hp is absurd. Soon we'll be reading of some rich fool pulling a Dodge Viper spin out/pile up with one.

The current Tesla p100D has 788hp and 920lbft of torque with awd. I guess you could call it ludicrous.

Strange to me. How can one possibly make wise use of that sort of power in a passenger vehicle on public roadways?

Then again, Elon Musk is a nut job AFA I'm concerned.

Tollbooths (although these are going away quickly), onramps, evasive maneuver, uh...having fun? And why not consider the dragstrip? My Saturn is completely impractical and certainly has the capability to exceed speed limits here and there. But it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Toll booths not going away anytime soon, just a name change to EZ Pass lane.
