Hurricane Florence

Looks like it may have a taste for the Ga/SC line. Getting prepped for it now.

Yep, lots of model convergence now, sadly. This one might wipe a couple islands off the map in obx.

Please be safe...

Having ridden out more than one hurricane and having friends in the Houston area this: Better get a generator and plenty of fuel to run it, propane, natural gas or diesel.

EITHER PLUG THE REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER INTO THE GENERATOR DIRECTLY OR HAVE AN ELECTRICIAN INSTALL A TRANSFER SWITCH. HOUSES HAVE BURNED TO THE GROUND BECAUSE PEOPLE USED GENERATORS WITHOUT TRANSFER SWITCHES. IN ADDITION A GENERATOR WITHOUT A TRANSFER SWITCH CAN SEND ENOUGH POWER UP THE LINE TO KILL ELECTRICAL WORKERS. THEN YOU GET CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER OR MURDER. NOT FUN.

Next, Houston experienced many deaths because emergency crews were unable to get to people in need. The rescue crews needed boats but not many were available.

At a minimum, I'd get a zodiac style rescue boat and have it ON THE READY. Be prepared to secure your boat because greedy neighbors may try and steal it. If you need to evacuate, do it in the middle of the night so your loser neighbors don't try and hitch a ride on your already over crowded boat.

Do not drive your car or truck through high water, the water will ruin the starter. If water gets into the air intake, you just bought yourself a new engine. Ask me how I know......

I see Trump has stripped FEMA of $10 mil and directed it to THE WALL (more or less).
