The demon drink

Well England have just beaten Argentina 1-0 so that calls for a beer.My favourite tipple is Tanglefoot by the Badger brewery of Dorset England www.tanglefoot.co.uk For you guys that partake of the odd brew what do you drink?Bear

Negra Modelo! http://www.alabev.com/modelo_especial.htm

mbz380se 06-07-2002 05:47 PM

B.C. Growers Hard Cider, Molson, and Kokanee. Canada makes some of the world's best brews, IMHO.

Fosters, Heineken, Fat Tire & Shiner Bock...and sometimes that non-alcoholic clear stuff, what's it called?

Oh yeah....WATER!

engatwork 06-07-2002 06:12 PM

Shiner Bock is good but hard to find around here. JW Dundee Honey Brown if I can find it. Usually Miller Lite (the paper machine that I am responsible for mechanical "availability" makes the paper the cartons are made from - last month we achieved 97% mechanical availability) and occasionally Coors Lite. Jack Daniels for the hard stuff.

Bear 06-07-2002 06:19 PM

Quite right Jim,Jack Daniels is a favourite of mine also.My other favoured brew is Guinness.Bear

Negra Modelo is a good one John, good choice !

Well I knew that you have a great taste for everything including beers, so you might also want to try some other mexican tastefull cervezas like:

Bohemia
Pacifico
Leon
Montejo

The last two produced by a very recognized brewery located in the southeast part of Mexico ( Yucatan ).

Those are my favorites... and the good thing is that they are not very hard to find here in sunny California !

Salud ! ;)

Frank X. Morris 06-07-2002 09:23 PM

Howdy All,
Nothing but the hard stuff for me. Henry Weinhard's Root Beer:D

Snibble 06-08-2002 12:20 AM

Frank... I get the cheap stuff, Barq's Root Beer;)

Gilly 06-08-2002 12:41 AM

1. Water, the colder the better
2. Miller Lite
3. German brandy, the good stuff, Asbach Uralt (Thanks Gunter!)
4. German wine, the good stuff, Pieroth (Thanks Andr, *HIC* Andrew!)

Howdy Snibble,
Barq's is good, but I have gotten away from the softdrinks with a bite. I like the smoother taste of the Henry's. The honey they add gives it the smooth taste. Drink about 3 a week

mikemover 06-10-2002 01:04 AM

Hoegaarten, Sam Adams, Paulaner, or Warsteiner in the summer, Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout, Murphy's Stout, or Guinness Stout in the winter! :D Bohemia and Bass are OK. Bass is suffering from "mass-production" induced flavor loss lately! :(

A good Merlot anytime!!!!

Only the good stuff!!!

In an absolute pinch, I can drink Busch...No, really! ;) Only when I'm broke, though. It tastes OK, because it's one of the only cheap beers that doesn't have rice in it...makes for better beer and better cars! :D :D :D

Negra Modelo is great beer. I also like Sam Adams, Anchor Steam and Genessee Cream Ale.

Similar to Mikemover, I drink Busch and enjoy it. Whenever I move and buy a new house, I drink Busch as "new house/cheap" beer. Having moved to NJ from Indy/Cincinnati, I figure that I will be drinking "new house" beer for the rest of my life.

I hate NJ

Don't remember their names now, but the cask-conditioned ale's I had in several pubs on my recent vacation to England were by far the best I've had. Man, I wish they made it like that over here!

A local microbrewery here in the Seattle area, Hale's Ale's make a Cream Ale that's the closest I found yet.

Come now Kuan, I love Guiness too (have 13 or so cans in the fridge right now), but can you really qualify that as 'exotic'? :) Love the avatar btw!

Hope your celebration was reasonably sane Bear ;)

Regards,
- Ryan

Kuan 06-10-2002 03:01 PM

Hey so it's not exotic, but I like it! I also like stuff from Bell's in Michigan. I seem more and more drawn to single malts these days though. In my possesion right now...

Glenlivet, Laphroig, Macallan, Oban, Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie.

Director's - but only in England cause you can't get it here!

:)

Gilly 06-10-2002 10:58 PM

Sheeesh!

suginami 06-10-2002 11:14 PM

Did somebody say cocktail hour?

I'll take Beefeater Gin and Tonic with Lime.

Best stuff? Anywhere in the UK!
Germany ranks up there too!
Guinness in the states is pure crap! as are all Euro imports.
Negro Modelo is good, and I have heard there is a beer called Superior which is supposed to be good, but have never found...

Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is good but is probably a local CA beer.
Half Dome ale will knock your socks off with taste and alcohol, over 9%! Found it at Albertsons!

Virtually any micro brewery in the Bay Area will give out a beer or ale similar to Euro brews and are worth the effort to see what all the fuss is about concerning same.

Early Times is a good, cheap blended whiskey.

Henry Weinhards Root Beer must surely be the best!
