found the shift knob adapter shaft!!!

Performance products has it. It allows you to use the newer benz shift knobs on your 124, 201, 202, or 129 car that has the shaft attached to the knob.

I also bought a momo Combat Metal shift knob which is really intended for a porsche, but with some slight modification of the shaft, it will fit fine. Its aluminum and black, to match the aluminum trim I am placing over the wood in the car.

I am excited. its a great looking knob.

The shaft will have to be shortened about an inch, and I have to get some longer allen screws for the knob to secure to the shaft, but ohh man its gonna look great.

will do adm I'll be installing it sunday. It can take the standard mb knobs no problem, but has to be shortened to use the momo I got. I'm gonna cut an inch off it maybe a little more

I couldn't wait. its installed now. I had to cut the shaft slightly with the gool ol grinder, but man oh man it feels so nice, I am glad I bought it. I still need some longer screws for it, but it fits great the shaft could be a fraction taller, but its all good. fits like it was meant to be there, of course when I do the aluminum trim over the wood, it will really look better. it looks out of place with the wood, but will look great with the aluminum trim...

I'll get some pics saturday.
