Indestructible shoes

Anybody ever tried these? They're all over Facebook, I'd almost like to try some but I really like to buy my shoes in person. Sometimes 10-1/2 works, sometimes 11. I guess I could send them back if I need the next size.

Howdy cmac,
I have Keen sandals and I think they make a shoe. Check Cabela's or Bass Pro Shop. You may have one of them near you or any other sorting goods store. Hope this helps.

Red face Cheap, FUGLY Shoes

In 1968 I wore a vented pair of combat boots, those were ugly too but not anywhere near as bad as these things are .

I stepped on a screw a couple of months back while wearing regular old, slightly worn gym shoes of some sort. Somehow a 1-1/4" drywall screw landed on its head on a stairway I had just taken some stuff down. It was half of an oven/microwave cabinet mount combo I took down an outdoor stair on a handtruck. How a screw like that fell out of it, and somehow landed exactly wrong baffles me. I went back up, and carried something down and stepped on it. Holy chit that caused me grief for a couple of weeks. Limping hard. Those things can be really sharp, one of the black ones. And this one had the approx 1/2 inch of thread on the tip stripped off, as if it had been forced into a steel hole it wasn't meant for, but still needle sharp on the tip.

Worst nail-like item stepping on ever.

The shoes do seem dicey, I will agree. But Kevlar sole, who knows, might work.

Howdy cmac,
Sounds like you need a tactical boot that swat teams wear ;-)

Angry Sheet Metal Screws

Yes, those damn things pop up everywhere and puncture your tires, feet and so on .

Remember to wash any puncture would well and put some peroxide on it to prevent infection ~ foot infections can get really bad / dangerous guickly .

Drywall screws too are everywhere, I'm always picking up screws & nails .

I sat down and took the shoe off. I had been wearing boots for years but lately I'm having an increase in ankle tenderness, left foot only, too many sprains in B-Ball, and the gym shoes seem to work a lot better in that regard.

Not sure they help. I haven't twisted or rolled one in quite a while. I am watching out for my ankles big time.

That's what I always think until I forget for an *instant* and wind up on the floor / ground .

I have recently taking to wearing military surplus boots. For various reasons amongst them problems with twisting my ankles etc. I prefer boots that lace up about 12 to 13 inches up the calf.

On the face of it this seems ridiculous especially in a place like Phoenix. But the ones I have are pure leather and surprisingly comfortable.

They are two pairs of Austrian army surplus boots and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Of remarkably high quality as well and cost me 59 and 24 bucks shipped respectively. Use em for everyday ware as well as hiking, yard work etc.
