Nuclear Batteries

I never knew pacemakers used these. They have made them more powerful, can last 100 years.

It's getting harder and harder to kill zombies!:eek::eek:

unless a type,of moving slime mold can attach to dead muscle, ain't going to happen. No way to bring rotten tissue to life.
Back to batteries, mankind has always had affection for gold, and diamonds. Now we see laser's fired at gold, produce anti matter, soon diamonds will house this energy too.

??

So these 'Nuclear' batteries are radioactive ? .

oldsinner111 08-01-2019 11:06 AM

yeah Nate, but safe somehow, don't need charging either.Make electricity off decay

Dubyagee 08-01-2019 11:13 AM

Thermal and non thermal. Low efficiency but long lasting

Oh I don't know about that. There's a few politicians whom I believe disprove your view point.:D

??sounds really odd .

don't burn these batt.s for sure. also someone coming out with a battery with aluminum plates.

Botnst 08-08-2019 07:51 PM

IIRC, the Voyager spacecraft use plutonium decay to generate electricity.

INSIDIOUS 08-09-2019 09:33 PM

If nuke not batt, power source

Russian science is well advanced. They can create nuclear fusion with far less radioactive beta particle by products. They have been working in this area for some time.

China is also going all out on research as well. That was obviously their plan for some time. As they are graduating very large masses of engineers currently. Far larger than their historical average.

As far as I am aware the Russian nuclear powered cruise missile is a first. It has indefinite range. Russia may be able to build the first nuclear powered aircraft engines for commercial planes.

So will a slow fusion battery emerge at some point? Possibly. It has to be fusion as the decay method is too slow. Plus very low to no radioactive emissions are required.

I reiterate, that is not a battery , but a power supply.

I think we kinda get that. True, it’s off the OP topic. Not really a first.

oldsinner111 08-16-2019 10:45 AM

we tried that, but the risk to great.Need something with a really short half life, for commercial flights
