I need source for 40 or 53 foot Class 8 trailers

Peachers,

It is likely I will buy a farm in the VERY near future.

When I do, I must move the contents of a 10 x 40 storage unit and the contents of a 30 x 70 workshop.

One farm that I am checking out only has a 30 x 40 barn and a 2000 sq ft house.

I am looking to purchase one or two 40 or 53 foot trailers on wheels so I don't have issues with the county while the stuff is being sorted out.

My plan:

1) the contents of the 10 x 40 will go to the basement
2) most of the cars in the work shop will go to the barn
3) the rest of the parts will go into a trailer (or two)
4) I still have the contents of my 3400 sq ft house and a basement full of parts! That can go into the house, with overflow to trailer.

In future:
My next building will be 40 x 100. With current building, future total space will be 5200 sq ft, enough to put everything inside.

I have not found anyone that has trailers for sale with the wheels, so the trailers can be moved and will not be considered buildings that are not placed on improperly built foundations.

Any help on sources of trailers with wheels will be appreciated.

THANKS!

Have seen that.

Put an offer down on the farm, but with the work needed, the owner who is no longer working but filled his property with his trucks, may think it's too low.

Well if that is the case the counter offer may not be bad. Much depends on demand for the properties in that area.

Shipping containers are a lot easier to get here than basically run out highway closed units. Decent surplus containers are not that cheap either.

You do have a major break. Trumps booming economy also has a trucking industry in big trouble. Some big outfits are closing down and new heavy truck sales have been quite weak. . So an auction may be your best bet. There should be more out there than buyers right now. Checking for trucking equipment auctions would be my move.

Keep an eye on these for a while. Search by area.

Non government trucking type equipment auctions might be better. Than government ones. I can see little demand for the older units there. I might approach a trucking company for what they think.

I did watch one trucking equipment auction in the last six months and was surprised at just how low some units sold for.
