I have Alexa bluetoothed to my ipad2; works great. I have existing Sony wireless speaker SRS-X2 also bluetoothed to my ipad2. Works great too.

Just bought a new and better Sony wireless speaker SRS-XB20. Apparently my ipad2 (Model A1395) is too old and the new speaker will not see it.

Is there a workaround for this?

New Sony seems to connect OK to my iphone 6 but to make it play from Alexa I guess I would need to bluetooth Alexa to the iphone 6. Maybe that might work. But if I left the house and took the iphone6 with me, would Alexa still work while I am gone?

Is there a workaround just to make the new Sony see the old ipad?

After talking with Sony, I realized that I had posed the wrong question. Turns out that in fact I did connect the speaker with my ipad bluetooth but Alexa would not play on it.

Sony advises that this speaker is not compatible with Alexa and that it just will not play from Alexa.

Who woulda thought????

So this thread closes and I ship the speaker back to Amazon.

There is one response to this thread and effectively I have the answer and have closed it out.

However, I was never able to find this thread when I go down the list of new posts. The only way I found it was to use the search function.

Did the mods determine that this thread was not important - I see other posts from the Other category - or was it censored? Today I looked down the list of threads going way back and it still did not show.

It's never been taken down, maybe your 'losing it out' removed your ability to view it as I see it every time I'm in this forum .
