Exceptional snow storm ongoing here.

Hello everyone,,
Snowing heavy here all day and ongoing throughout the night. Eight feet high against the house in places and nearby drifts already. Never seen even this amount of snow down currently in the forty years we have lived here in eastern Canada.

Very windy as well although a hill to the west of us protects the house somewhat. I only hope the power stays on as it has already failed in some areas of the county. Fast hydro fixes in the wind and conditions will be out of the question.

Wish we could get some. We have not had a good snow here in 6 or 7 years if I remember correctly. Actually it was in 2010, we had a 12" dump of snow.

We did have a hard freeze a while back but for the most part our winters have been really mild. Sucks.

Where are you in eastern Canada? There were strong winds all night but no snow in the border area of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Actually the wife was out on a revenue run early last night towards Halifax and back. Roads had no snow or ice. Although ten to fifteen centimeters is forcast for tomorrow. It is about 52F degrees here right now.

Welcome to the site by the way. Are you in Newfoundland? Although could be northern New Bruinswick. Tomorrows snow never arrived here except for a light dusting. With the amount of rain last night it may be pretty bad where it remains cold enough to snow.

We have been here somewhat over forty years ourselves and only seen conditions like that once.
