Are Govenors installed by the factory or the trucking Company ?
Is this due to insuance costs ?
Also, aren't there onboard tracking systems that document the times a big rig exceeds the speed limit ?

YOU made the claim. YOU claim you're clocking trucks. Back up your claim. If you're the civilian policeman you claim you are, it should be no issue to provide some date/timestamped dashcam footage. Or perhaps you're just a paranoid lunatic who habitually lies online for attention?

Not worth your effort.

100 mph tractor trailers? The way DOT is nowadays they’d lose their licenses and their careers in short order.

Not exactly. Manufacturer says what is what. Owners imprint on that. Schneider (big big big HUGE trucking) has a policy .... https://schneiderjobs.com/blog/driver/update-driver-speed-stance I'd like to see evidence of a big CDL rig running 100 MPH lately

I get it!

I loved that movie ("Dual"). I was eleven or twelve when it came on TV. I remember thinking "if you didn't have a POS car (Plymouth Valiant) you could just put your right foot down and get away from that Peterbilt."

My next thought was that when I got 16 and started driving, I'd need something like a Plymouth Road Runner or Dodge Charger... with a Hemi... in case some crazy **** in a Peterbilt started chasing me.

I got chased a few times in my M3. The longest chase was about 120 miles. I was coming back from getting the connecting rod bearings changed out, and they put a decal on the windshield saying not to exceed 105 MPH for 1200 miles.

Some Bubba in a Chrysler mini-van was determined to prove to his wife and kids that their mini-van was every bit as fast as a BMW M3. So, he was on my butt for about 50 miles of interstate at 105 MPH. One the last 60 miles of back roads, I'd loose him until the next town and traffic light. He followed me to within a half mile of my house, and pulled up next to me at my last traffic light. His wife and kids looked terrified.

I had a woman in a Subaru pass me, pull in front of me, and then slow down several times on I-95. I was in the right lane with my cruise control on, minding my own business... because "the night belongs to the trooper." I'd pass her at full throttle in a low gear, get away from her, and then settle back down to 78 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. In a few minutes, she'd be back doing the same thing again. She eventually got mad, put on her high-beams and started chasing me. 105 MPH was the magic number, likely the governed speed of her Subaru. I toyed with her for a long time, maybe 20 or 30 miles, figuring that if I got pulled over I could say that I was fleeing road rage. She eventually gave up catching me, though.

Nah, that just means the signs are on backward ... it's all good.

I am glad I swallowed the water I was drinking before I got to this one.

Thanks for the laugh.
