So, I did a thing...
It's not particularly exciting, but it is pretty special:
https://i.imgur.com/Kg2fzLs.jpg :D She needs a little bit of TLC as she sat for a few years (only ~500 miles were put on from the time Jim had passed to when I bought her), but she's still got all the mods from Jim and is almost in the same shape as when Jim had her! I'll post some additional pictures once I get her cleaned up, but she's drives as good as I remember from back in the day. |
I think that might be the car that JimB scared the pants off of me and Dee8go in while navigating narrow steets in SF back in the late oh-ohs IIRC. Fast car.

Jim would be proud. Good work Rock!

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...1&d=1585349060 Photo from my first Mercedes-Shop meet. Took this photo and moments later introduced myself to Jim and Justin (iwrock). |
What is that model number again? And tell us about the engine, I can’t remember anything about it.
|
Amazing! Jim is smiling somewhere - and its still a beauty!

Good to see someone carrying the flame .

I remember when he built the engine....not sure if 5.6 but he got all the good non smog euro parts IIRC. I cannot imagine how it ever passed California smog rules.

Cool

is it licensed in CA?

Classic car, with classic rims...looks like something that Crockett and Tubbs would have driven...
|
Great that you bought this car. This style Benz will live in infamy in my mind. I love 'em.
What is the history of the car since the engine fire? Who bought it from Jim's widow? |
