Deadly ‘murder hornets’ are also a crunchy gourmet snack
Well that's one way to reduce the number of nests...

they have been here in Northeast TN for years. You can't eat outside in my yard, they will fly off with chunks of you burger. Not mean if you don't hit at them. Good to cook a extra burger for them, placed away from table.

I got into some really nasty fellows of decent size in Alabama. Much larger that the same insects in Canada. Pain was fast and over quickly. Glad the nest was small.

Who knows how it was coined. It appears effort to eradicate them are underway. Success is far from expected I imagine. Actually I do know the reason they got the name. They attack and murder the occupants of conventional bee hives. By cutting their heads off. We have had many issues resulting in the decline of the bee population without this. In north America. They are seriously needed for pollination. I hope they can be eradicated again.. Yet realistically that is not that likely. They can be really hazardous to people as well it seems. In not that great of numbers. |
