Post 2 Wheels Of DEATH

Yes, when I read 'well lit' I too instantly thought drunk.....

In my experience most of the two wheeled motors are reasonably O.K. and prudent, it's the nut balls on bicycles who cause so much misery .

Demanding a full traffic lane when you're going 10 MPH is simply STUPID ~ I understand that some idiots who never ride bicycles changed the laws so you're 'entitled' to a full lane but it's beyond foolish .

I miss riding bicycles, I had to give it up .

Yes, motorcycling is one of those things like cliff climbing : even if you're 1,000% careful and safe, things beyond your control can and do happen .

I'm crippled now yet I still ride ~ I was surprised that I couldn't stop but them\n unlike most I'm not afraid of death, I just don't want a painful and lingering one....

We bought our foster boys a scooter, tiny little 'Razor' thing, I told them if I ever see them riding it in the street they'll lose it forthwith .

Life is just too short to blow too much time on abuses of anything.

Congratulations. Although it is far from easy to leave them behind.

I generally give it up during lent. That is certainly not one bit easy. The wife tapered off smoking 20/day 15/day etc. She would wake up without an alarm around mid-night, cause it was a new day to have her first.

I ride a lot. IMO vehicles are responsible for avoiding what's in front of them. If there were a traffic cone you'd avoid it. Why not a bicycle?

Thats why they are called accidents. If I hit a cone, it's an accident, If I hit someone on a bicycle It's an accident. Huge difference.

People just seem to not see rwo wheelers. A legitimate problem most of us have experienced. That have ridden two wheelers.

Driving against a low sun can just about blind us for all practicle purposes. With windshield glare. In those conditions it is understandable people in cars will miss things.

The siren call to buy another motorcycle is still in my blood. I have had to resist it for years now.

The law of the jungle AKA nature. Bigger beasts eat smaller beasts. Simple physics; when a 3 - 4000 pound machine hits a two wheeler....game over.

While the so-called "Motor Vehicle CODE" (notice it is encoded, that is so us mere mortals cannot easily understand it.....) may grant two wheelers so-called "legal rights", it cannot change the law of the jungle.

I love to ride bicycles, fresh air, exercise, who isn't into that? OTH, I see how inept and incompetent four wheelers are, driver talking on his/her phone, etc.. That is enough to keep me off a two wheeler.

I just bought a really really nice exercise machine that offers up a reasonable solution. I have been using it the past three nights to get my heart rate up and I really like it! It is quiet, has some upper body workout options for an old guy and is well built! Note; if you shop around you can get a good deal on this exercise bike.

Exercise bikes get you nowhere. I like riding to places. I like riding 60-200 miles on the weekends. Air, people to meet, interesting places, etc.

People will disagree but I am an advocate for better cycling infrastructure, safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists.

All the advocacy in the world means nothing when two tons of SPEEDING iron drives cold hard steel through your pelvis.

it is amazing to me how smart people can make dumb decisions.

All the advocacy/legal rights, etc. means nothing when this happens to the rider.

pedaling my indoor exercise bike while watching a little television beats looking over my shoulder worrying about a Hummer H2 mowing me down!

Because : a traffic cone isn't wobbling along deliberately impeding faster traffic, that's why .

Don't be obtuse .

Bicycles are great, I have friends who rode them from Los Angles to TEXAS and back again and no one got hit nor hurt .

One of my old work mates drove taxi but refused to own a car, he'd ride 75 miles daily to work and back then to the beach for beers on the weekend, only ever had one crash, in the park no less .

This isn't about disliking bicycles, it's about how a select few in one particular group, act like jerks more often than not and decide they have more rights than anyone else .

I still own a bicycle, I can't really ride it due to my collective injuries but I'm loath to part with it....

Bicyclists are complete douchbags. Ever been Out walking or Running and a biker thinks they also own that part of the street/sidewalk/path? I’m reminded of walking over the Golden Gate Bridge with the rest of the tourist. Bicyclists trying To go full autobahn speed into crowds. It’s not just on streets with cars

Post The Problem In A Nutshell

And there you go ~ making blanket generalizations like this means you're no different than the few cyclists who act like jerks .
