Erase Yourself

The car you drive collects information about you. Ok, pretty obvious. If you don’t like that, getting rid of the data can be a hassle. I came across and app for that. I have not downloaded it.

Anybody use it?

People discussing erasing data on their cars because privacy...but use a message board and social media and carry around a smart phone.

Don't forget your government keeping and maintaining false records about you:

I am not sure why I should be concerned about this considering my electronic foot print. All my finances are on line. I carry a cell phone. Erasing my travel history? Why? Someone wants my phone list? Why? If it erases my garage code how do I get in my garage? If I sell the car, I will change the code after I reset the car.

to much tech in car's like my son's backup camera, when did american's get to lazy to turn around and look. All these new ones, you have to bend lower than a MG midget to get in. Cell phones, so glad I don't have one. Hated when I did.

I agree. What kind of lazy idiot wants a starter on their car. Go out and crank that puppy like we did in the old days. And don't even get me started on disk brakes....oh my God.

Go to your nearest Chevy dealer and stand behind the tailgate of a Silverado 2500. I'm 6'2" and the top of the tailgate is level with my chest. Imagine trying to see a 4-year-old on a trike riding behind such a truck while it's backing out of a driveway...

The bottom of the back window of my Van is about 4 feet from the ground. That means someone like a kid 4 feet or smaller can be unseen when I back up my Van. Only one if the reasons why I added a back up camera to my 92 Chevy Astro Van.

I did not want a Cell Phone either till I had Car trouble needing to call the Auto Club and found out all of the Pay phones in my area were gone.

Then I am home alone and there and almost 70 years old. Having a cell phone with me gives me some small chance to call for help if I fell and could not get up. Or especially when I go for a walk early in the morning and no one is around.

Now if I could only remember to bring it with me all of the time. Still working on that.

Apple Watch will detect a fall and automatically call 911....it has ECG and O2 sensor as well...won’t be long before they are categorized as medical devices

Exactly!

In aviation there is a new technology called ADS-B that is helpful for air traffic control which has to do with saving lives. Some aircraft owners are paranoid about it because their whereabouts can be known. Kind of funny when you think about the fact that most of them have a smart phone in their pocket.

It also makes me wonder what they want to hide.
