I'm not a bike rider (anymore after several mos recovery with misc fractures and a halo with fractured C3) but I appreciate the engineering. I have always been intrigued with V8 motorcycles-not the ones with American V8's though. There are a few others-this one is cool: https://eisenbergracing.com/eisenberg-v8/
Interesting-the PGM sounds like a 4 cyl not a V8-probably the crank phasing.

Exclamation V-ATE Motos

Whee ! .

I've been riding over 50 years now and in spite of two near fatal crashes still ride albeit slower.....

This thing would just -love- to kill you if it gets the chance .

we here in western society want fast, but more fuel consuming. A royal enflied single cylinder big frame bike with kick start, would be perfect for me to ride to ecuador

Post Single Cylinder Motocycles

Have you actually ridden one ? .

They vibrate like paint shakers .

Yes, they're uber cool , simple and easy to maintain and repair and dirt cheap but few actually like riding them .

I'm old and not smart so I like riding vintage single cylinder Motos every where but _TRY_ one before you plunk down your dollar$....

Post Indian Chieftan

Dig it ! .

I assume it's stock and still has the jockey lid ? .

I sometimes miss my 1937 Harley-Davidson EL KnuckleHead, then I remember ridi9ng over steeply slanted greasy cobble stones in the pouring rain....

I can't believe I didn't die riding that beautiful (and fast) bike all over Guatemala as a wild and foolish youth .

I always wonder if Indian Motocycle Company might have made it if they'd gone to overhead valves...

I prefer twins over everything else, multis are nice and so speedy etc. but I like to log the miles, not spin the sites and so on .

"there are old riders and bold riders but there are NO old, bold riders" .

Might be true, I'm told I ride fast, I don't think so as I know really fast riders .

bad thing at time was lucas electronic's. Never would charge battery right.either burn it dry, or would not charge had it at dealer shop, and DTM in pedro. One day headed to beach, after harbor curve in san pedro pushed it to dealer and sold it with matching helmets, and rented a car for weekend.

Post Old British Thumpers

The Lucas electrical systems were mostly 1930's design tech and worked O.K. ~ their biggest failure was almost total lack of quality control .

The AC dynamo wasn't designed for long stretches of open highway so when you got on the freeway the Zener diode simply couldn't handle the amount of AC current produced at high revs and so often boiled the battery dry or failed, allowing AC current to invade the rest of the electrical system, often causing the headlight to explode .

If you were to throw a leg over your old bike to - day, you'd be shocked at how much it vibrated ~ back then when we were young it was considered part and parcel of any single and many twins too .

Have no doubt : BSA made very good Motocycles but Honda followed by other Japanese manufacturers made short work of them by making smooth running bikes that didn't leak and break as often .

BSA sales slogan :BUILT LIKE A GUN ! .

I stove mightily to buy a near pristine survivor BSA C15, they wanted far too much for it sad to say .

I imagine you had a Victor ? (441C.C.) those were fearsome bikes .

Had an old enfield 350 single. A long time ago. Increased displacement a little with a rebore and new piston it needed on purchase.

What sticks in my mind was the rebore and new piston and rings where 17.00. Still leaked a little oil after I put it back together. Lot more motorcycles around back then as well.

my next bike was a 72 honda 350 cb, with hooker 2 into one pipe. Very dependable never failed to start even with dead battery I would roll down a hill. no front brake. My hooker was rigged so went to a muffler shop, and had bracket welded higher. Took off fast towards colorado blvd. Tried to stop, I had pipe welded in the way off rear brake pedal. Colorado had the green light,, cars zooming in front of me, closed my eye's some how made it thru. Or could be reincarnated in this nightmare life. turned key off and let engine brrake me into gas staion where I lossened bracket.. Then shot baffle somewhere on freeway. CHP gave a ticket..The machine shop I worked at I made a end plate , drilled tapped it, then shove lathe scrap into pipe and installed end plate.pipes glowed ret hot at DMV inspection but passed.

Post Motocycling Fun (?)

Just so Nate ~

When I look back I wonder how the hell we ever survived....

I rode my 1937 Harley-Davidson 61" KnuckleHead from Guatemala City to El Salvador in 1976, what the hell was I thinking ? .

So many I knew died when others turned in front of them or whatever...
