I Almost Got Killed Last Night.........

last night was my mothers birthday party which ended with a BANG.... Well, almost. Thank God not!!

My parents and I as well as many of my aunts and uncles congregated last night at my mom's favorite Thai restaurant in Hanover Park (Hangover Park,, as everyone calls it.) Illinois. Everything went smooth until my uncle Bob and I went outside to the parking lot to look at my E320. (He is interested in a new-used car and is looking for a Mercedes.) While I was showing him some of the great features a Mercedes has to offer, we landed between a gang war!!

In the middle of showing him the car we heard Screeeeech!! then Bang!!! And a car alarm goes off. My uncle yelled. "That’s my car!" We run to the driveway of the parking lot and see the two SUV's that appeared to be having a fight! As one of them goes speeding off down the parking lot, the other one slams into two of my relatives cars. He then put it in reverse and slammed on the gas and then back into drive. I jump out in front of the SUV waving my arms to stop him, He obviously did not stop. I jumped out of the way before he was able to run me over. I then reacted by jumping in his window and grabbing his shirt. Bad idea,, the A-hole then pulls out a revolver and aims it at my head. I immediately let go of him and bail out of the way! After I was out of shooting range I attempted to chase his truck to get the license plate with no success. I then ran into the restaurant and instructed the owner to call the cops, he laughs thinking it was some prank, I said. “He’s got a gun!!” I then had every ones attention, especially one of my aunts who fainted and ended up in the hospital over night. Anyway, luckily no one was hurt except for some feelings and two cars. I just wish those gang bangers would settle their disputes in secluded areas!

Reffering to the thread's title... I too almost got killed- 2days ago.

Me and 2 other guys wanted to cross through a railroad station. There was one train with about 40 wagons that was just sitting there. So, we went to the front of the train to cross and there was another train coming on the other side. So they started running and I did too. I then tripped over this line that was hidden in a patch of tall grass and fell straight on to the tracks. The train was then about 20 meters away and getting closer. I was like "oh crap... im in trouble" and the only thing I can think is get out of here ASAP. I roll off the tracks get up and run. I then fell a few feet away where I looked at my injuries. I had a big scrape along my left forearm, my left wrist has big cut. My right elbow had a minor cut. My left knee was banged up pretty badly.
I just thank god that I am ok... and I won't do stupid things like that again I think there is a reason for me to go to Church this weekend :p

My solution is to take rival gangs put them in a large enclosed area so that no gangsters or bullets can escape. Each side has enough pistols and ammo for all members. At this point they can begin good old gang warfare the same way that the Europeans used to have war in the 18th century. The winners get to be executed.

As bad as most of those guys shoot they would end up beating each other to death with the guns

Wouldn't matter to me how they fought. So long as the end result is the same. My dad has often made a similar statement regarding rounding them up and letting them "have at it" untill no one was left. Too bad the liberal left would never allow it.

Personally when those situations arise I head for cover those idiots have no regard for anybody’s life including their own.

In the OLD days I would get in the line of fire but a wife and baby need me around so I keep it cool.

However if for some reason I get cornered someone will have a 10mm diameter hole in his/her head, after 3 years of being an Army Ranger pulling the trigger is the easy part.

It's sad that Adams experience is becoming more common we are moving to the country this month (the house is almost finished) and I wish it were sooner. We are already in a wealthy rural area but its still to many people for me.

I think chowpit has the best idea...let 'em kill each other off in a place where they can't hurt any innocent people! They're going to do that eventually anyway.

Let's make a Pay-Per-View event out of it! Tons of money could be raised, and given to innocent bystanders like Adam and his family!!!!

I'm in Chicago burbs - where in Hanover Park did this happen? We need to put pressure on everyone involved - business owner, local police, sheriff, etc. etc to clean this up. Any description of the perps and their wheels? License plates?
