Auto CD Skipping.....

O.K., I try to keep my CD's clean but occasionally I'll have to clean off fingerprints or something .

I just did this and now the same CD is skipping like mad .

Is it possible there's dust inside the unit n the lens ? .

Is there some way I should clean it ? .

What's the best method to clean CD's ? I'm using aerosol window cleaner and soft paper towels because that's what I read to use .

Is it O.K. to use plastic polish on them ? .

TIA,

Other CDs work fine? Problem with the one CD is obvious. There are places that treat Cds. I just write the occassional one off. A semi opaque coating could be a problem. Acting as a partial reflector. Not really sure.

A Little Help

THANK YOU .

Other CD's seem to play fine so I'll next try some super fine plastic polish ~ I use it on my Motocycle helmet's face shield to keep it clear .

Many of the CD's I have are unobtanium so I'd hate to loose one .

Cd restore is about three dollars each I believe. You live in an area where it should be easily accessable. Surface of CDs possibly tricky. Any refectivity of the coating possibly a problem.

Just a suspicion as I know almost nothing about Cds. I could ask the wife but she is out doing that shopping thing.

Cassette Players

I loved them too but they all died eventually .

I've never had any skipping issues in twenty plus years until recently .

really? cd's are know for that, right l.a. pavement land. tn winter make roads rough here

oldsinner111 06-26-2021 01:45 PM

I'd like to get a radio, that accepts a usb stick

It's possible the local roads there are too rough .

Here in La La Land, home to fruits, nuts and flakes, the roads are getting very bad indeed .

I always run the Bilstein HD gas shocks but the car doesn't have a jarring ride to me .

I ass-U-me that the brand or initial co$t of the CD player has some effect on the skipping, this is an old Kenwood that was put in the car long before I bought it made in ....? Japan ? ....? Germany? .

The soft rubber button that allows clock adjustment is now rock hard so the clock reads whatever .

Well My S has the turn table one in the trunk, but gave up years ago. Love my rolling Stone tapes

Good Music

Yes, I can dig that .

Much of my music pre dates the Rolling Stones by decades and was very hard to find .
