Do-It-Yourself Pays, Found $500

Went to change a Light Switch and found $500 I had hidden there. All of the bills have series 1988 on them.

Bugs seem to have eating part of one of the bills.

I decided to take the switch apart and found burned contacts similar to W123 Mercedes window switches and decided to scrap it so I can us the switch while I take some time and buy a replacement.

So far it is working fine.

Not sure when I hid the Money.

Happy for you your switch failed. Hiding away money in a house is often forgotten.

With the newer low current light bulbs. Switch failure will be substantially reduced.

Sounds like it may have been your favorite place of concealment. You may want to pull a few other switch covers and have a peek.

Usually my memory has me comes back to me eventually. I do vaguely remember missing some money waaay back. I have zero recollection of using that as a place to hide money.

2 ways I may have learned about that place to hid stuff is I read a book and it showed where Junkies hid stuff but still have reasonable access to it. The other is they actually sell small safes that look like electrical outlets or light switches.

I was thinking about buying an inexpensive washer $500 is the abour cost of one.
