Aging Out
I too miss the old well animated cartoons of yesteryear .
In the 1960's and into the early 1970's T.V. stations weren't gold mines so many hours were fill up with free to use vintage cartoons from the 1920's onwards . McClosky gems like Gumby and Pokey were gentle reminders to Children to behave have good manners and be considerate of others, all passe' now . Our foster boys like to watch endless cartoons and games, the newer games are well animated but the cartoons are usually extremely crude and use the ideas rather than motion to get their point across . I love animation because it's boundless ~ no restrictions on your ideas meeting visuals . Sadly, I can't watch a still picture with maybe a moving mouth, that sucks . Sort of like the horrible 'Clutch Cargo' cartoons in the 1960's . This is just one more part of aging I'd rather not deal with . |
