It got warm today

Howdy All,
It got up to 112°F in the thriving metropolis of El Mirage. I think some of the other areas were a little warmer. All we had to do at work today was pull electrical cables through conduit. Luckly most of the pulling was done by the ditch witch and by the time we finished it was only 108F. What kind of temps.did you guys have?¿

Howdy Frank,
Oh...I'm sooooo sorry. It's been in the low 70's here today although the humidity is higher than normal...probably around 80%.

From paradise! :p

The dash gauge on the 560 showed 103*F when I left the office (I was parked under the canopy). Have a feeling it'll be a hot summer this year.

About 78 today at my house, 4 miles from the beach. We live on the boundry where 1 mile west is 5-10F cooler, 1 mile east is 5-10F warmer.

I little while ago I went down the 126 to Ventura. It was over 90 inland and mid 60's and cloudy at the beach. As I drove inland at highway speeds and passed through the cloud line I watched the temperature climb two degrees a minute

Cool I have the same...

Jim: I usually have the same experience whenever I drive east on the 101. From Agoura on to Calabasas to the San Fernando Valley--as ambient temp climbs, so do engine temperatures.

By the way, in anticipation of the latest heat wave, I spent some time this past weekend re-mixing and tweaking my coolant/water ratio. Thanks to TKamiya and JimF (for their helpful hints on how to re-mix the coolant/water and for their pictures of the recalibrated Prestone anti-freeze gauge) I was able to lower my coolant /water ratio down to 40/60. The new ratio has worked wonders in keeping coolant temps down, even in 100+ San Fernando Valley (I hate it when I have to drive to the Valley).

Anyway, for those of you who want to keep engine temp down, check out your coolant/H2O ratio, most mechanics never get it right at the 40/60 ratio. If your ratio is too high, as mine was, try adjusting the mix. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Keep cool!

Smile Cold Snap

Howdy All,
Temp. only reached 108°F. today But it wasn't a dry heat. Clouds moving through, heading east trying to work themselves into a lather and become thunder storms. And that's our weather report for today sponsered by Mother Nature. Whos motto is " If you don't like the weather wait a while and I'll give you something to really whine about".
