1986 S class scented washer fluid???

I was reading a review of the 1986 w126 S class when it was new and they mentioned it had scented washer fluid. How does that work???

Here is a quote from what they said. You can find the article on cars.com

Ride is firm, and though you`ll feel those tar
marks a little, you won`t hear them. Headlamp
washer/wiper fluid is scented. After about two
blocks, you`ll wish it wasn`t.

Not sure what purpose that would serve, except that the pheromones emitted from the washer fluid would probably attract other W126 models.

This would allow the dominant models to breed and produce a hearty litter of 1987 W126s.:p

Maybe it was MB brand windshield washer fluid that had a distinct scent to it (as opposed to whatever we purchase from auto parts stores, etc).

I assume it would be gone in a short while in a given '86 W126, especially here in the Pacific NW.

Just a joke, like "you'll feel those tar marks" Some writer thought he was funnier than he was.

years and years ago I had the barn drive way
full of odd ferin cars from a 356 to a jag 120 with very dim head lights, there were about 6 that ran and 6 that did not. My father was looking at my beauties one day and said" Bill you have some very unusal cars but you need to always have one Chevy as you might need to get some where when the these won't start"
