Nissan Figaro

Saw one of these at work today. Had never seen or heard of this car before. Figured it was a English car of some sort. Thought it was from the 60's or 70's. Ends up its Japanese and its from the 90's Very cool little car.

That is pretty cool. Only 1790 lbs, a 987 cc turbo 4, 76 bhp. At that weight, probably halfway lively. The part I don’t get is they call it a 2+2. It looks like a two seater.

Always liked these. I am partial to the Nissan S-Cargo, its sister vehicle. Its the perfect name on so many levels.

S Cargo. I like the lines of the Figaro better. The Cargo lines are odd to me.

My 190e 2.2 diesel 5spd would get that claimed mpg , I didn’t believe all the hype but it’s true , best little diesel sipper out their if you can still find one .

I remember these ~ uber cool / cute if you like retro .

Nissan spent a lot of time on the details .

The neat thing is : like many niche JDM vehicles they're legal in the U.S.A. .

In another life I have repaired and driven a lot of these, They are piece mealed together from Nissan Sentra and micra parts - very cute but a huge massive PITA to get new parts for as JDM car parts are not produced much after 3 or 4 years of production.

You may find mechanical parts that interchange with other models (like sentra parts for this car) but specific parts to this car are very tough to get by as Japan doesnt have much warehouses for any car parts. The odd few in between dont deal with individuals and/or international orders.
