It appears you don't understand; sheriffs answer to the people because they are ELECTED. Police, OTH, are NOT elected. The police answer ONLY to their masters, the mayor and city council.

The police are not required to answer ANYONE's 911 call for help. the police carry guns for the sole purpose of protecting THEMSELVES. I still have a stack of court cases that prove this fact and this fact alone.

This. If I hire a PRIVATE security service to protect me and my house, who do they answer to? Why, that would be me, merc man, right?

The police, OTH, do NOT answer to you, your neighbors or the twit who lives at the end of your block. Let's just say the public at large enjoys a very uneasy, unhealthy relationship with their local PD.

This stack of court cases sitting on my desk that clearly state OVER AND OVER the police have absolutely, no, none, zilch, nada legal requirement to protect you or your family IN ANY SITUATION.... When the courts have repeatedly said it, it might be in your best interest to TAKE HEED......or not..... Just because you don't like the messenger doesn't mean the message doesn't ring loud and clear and is OPENLY available to ANYONE willing to LOOK......
