I have one client who is death on oil in her driveway. I keep a sack of cheapo, scent-free Safeway kitty litter in her garage. I sprinkle it onto the spot and grind it into powder under my foot. Works pretty good.

A week ago I left a huge tranny fluid spot/puddle at least 12 inches in diameter. Way too much, and I’ll be spending too much money on fluid to boot. Some days it’s very little. I don’t get it, but I need to stop it somehow.

Good advice, and I took it. I jacked the left side up quite a bit, put jackstands under. Made it a lot easier to get to the item in question. I cleaned it, hit it with several passes of brake cleaner and then compressed air, let it dry and put in a bunch of the black silicone gasket sealer. Let it dry for two days. That little piece is held very tightly now. No leaking. Of course what it does after a few months is the question.
