Saturday we went over to Marion for a big wrestling tournament. It is a smallish largish town of about 30,000. They have a lot of awards hanging around. I looked at their basketball awards, they had award winning people and teams back to the 1920's. I noted that they had African American looking people who had won awards all the way back. I felt pride that a small town in Indiana had been integrated so early.
Later I remembered that there had been some lynchings there. In fact they were the last ones in the US.
They still have a lot of great athletes there. In fact there was a notation that Marion has had more McDonalds all americans than any school in the US.
My grandson won his weight class. The other twin is currently healing from a shoulder injury.
