Found this footage from Max Olson. Absolutely insane. I hope the people in the track got out. If they did not, the casualty rate will be horrible. I do not remember the last time I saw storm surges like this.

Live radar. The center of the hurricane is still off the coast and it is still able to generate this kind of damage.

This is footage from the after math of hurricane Michael with 19ft storm surge. Helen is expected to have similar storm surge levels or possibly higher.

Just found out my house has been destroyed (built in 1930). Thankfully I'm being told the shop is good. It will be four days before I get back there. We are all safe.

Got pics today. It looks like all the 60 to 80 year old pine trees in the yard are laying on the ground with three or four on the house. One of them is like 4' in diameter - huge pine. It will take me a few days to get a path cleared to allow a crane room to get down there. I'm going to call a tree man Monday but I'm sure they are booked. It also took out my 06 Dodge Ram 2500. Unfortunately no homeowners insurance nor full coverage on truck. We had just finished renovating the kitchen.

Why no homeowners insurance?
