R/T Life, right or wrong?

High speed (over 100 mph) police pursuits are by nature very dangerous both for the cops and for the pursued. There have been and will continue to be horrific wrecks due to 'hot pursuit' police policies. If the cops would simply STOP high speed pursuits, the traveling public would be a LOT safer.

That said, this idea doesn't seem to be catching on because....well, it seems like the cops like DRIVING LIKE BATS OUTTA H. And, if their high speed pursuit results in death or injury to you or your family, tough. You died for a good cause, right?

R/T Life on youtube continues to show more than a few supercharged cars who consistently out run the cops.....what does it prove? If the cops would simply back off, all of these cat and mouse games would end.....

I've heard that myself; that said, please check out the multiplicity of police pursuit videos on R/T life. From corvettes, dodge challengers and dodge chargers, the vast majority ARE outrunning radios and helos......

Seizing your car for fun and profit

I don't know of any other states other than New York State that seizes cars for outstanding tolls. Need your car to take your wife to the hospital? too bad so sad.....

I imagine when they sell these cars at police auction they NET a much higher profit than what was owed in back tolls......

You remind me of a newspaper article I read some years back. The author of the article had just been appointed to the local excise tax board. the excise tax board is made up of three board of directors, he was one and the other two were women.

they had a line item budget sheet they worked from. They were required to vote yes or no on each line item budget. He began to ask questions. What is this $2.3 million dollars for? Who are the contractor(s) for this bridge project? Has this project been put out for competitive bid so other contractors could bid ON it???

The two women ALWAYS responded to his inquires.....You dont' need to know the answers, we are prepared to go ahead and vote NOW.......

He called the women "The rubber stamp committee".

back to the New York State EZ pass system, David. New Yorker's GASOLINE TAX (you know, the tax they pay every time they fill up their cars, trucks and SUVS with gasoline or diesel fuel) pays for the streets, roads and highways. They were paid off a LONG LONG TIME AGO, CAPISCE??

Then, to add insult to injury, they have guys like you cheering on the continuing pilfering of the people's wallets and purses.....
