This has to be a Euro car. There is no real downside to that except possibly the serial number will cause havoc with your insurance company. They always get confused over my 240D Euros serial number and a few times have talked about not insuring it.

Be sure that everything is in order as far as paperwork goes. As long as it is legally registered with plates, you will probably be okay.

Is the car an M103 or M104 engined car?

Good luck,

92 would be an M103 engined car.

uhm, Larry was right it's a euro and it turns out i had actually seen it before. good news is that we have the same mechanic who says everythings ok with the car. the bad(?) news is that it is not a 300E but a 200E. still my mechanic really liked the car. i wonder what engine that is because he said it's not the same as the 2 litre engines used in american MB's. i might go and drive it anyway just for the heck of it. it does have the cool euro lights (of course) and the alloy wheels are a unique style that i've never seen before...

I expect the engine is a four cylinder. If it were me I would be interested because it is a stick. I think it's worth looking at.

I drove a four cylinder, five speed, W202 rent car in Germany a few years ago and was impressed.

Good luck,

yup, it's a four. my mechanic and i were discussing this very same car when it was in his shop. it had a leaking head gasket which he replaced. also had the brakes done, all new rotors (same rotor as the diesel). he said he didn't have a problem with parts at all. and the reason i'm interested is also because it's a 5 speed...
