how much should I pay.

Here is the situation. I was driving one day in My Merkur and A guy pull up and said If ever you needed parts for this given me a call. He said he had 23 Merkur. I said do you own a yard he said that he just collect them.

So, resently my Merkur would not start. I though it was the fuel pump. So, I called the guy and he had a fuel pump. And he said I could get him a money order for it. I ask for his address he said lets see if it works.

I put the pump in and that was the problem. The problem is fixed.

So, here is my question how much should I send him. The pump is used from one of his car. The part is no longer sold at the dealer, but I could get a new one at Kragon for about $140.

He did delivered it to my door step since he was in the area and he said he tested the unit to make sure it works.

what do you guys think.

Tx bill, I like the picture below your signature. Is that the 220 D ?

I had a 1966 220 E grey market car that looked Identical exept for the cream color ext. and blood red int. It was a great car. Nice to see another in such good shape ( or at least appears to be)

The exterior appears to be in good shape though...

...I guess it requires a lot of "decrudding" performed to the interior and engine bay? After thirty seven years, that's a lot of buildup!
