Angry got followed on the way home

Driving home from my girlfriend's house proved interesting. I noticed this guy sticking on me for a little while so decided to take some back roads just to make sure i wasn't being followed. This dude in a pickup followed me through "closed to through traffic" construction roads, followed me when i back tracked and made huge boxes, and followed me off roading a little bit down a really bad construction road by my house. Needless to say i was about to call the police from my cell when i decided that i would pull off the road, stop and see if he drove by me stopped behind me. He drove off so i didn't have to do anything, it appeared to be 3 young teens in a beat up pickup truck with nothing better to do i suppose. I'm sure they had a fun ride trying to keep up with my benz through the s-curves, and i'm sure they enjoyed all the diesel smoke i purposely through at them(with their windows down no doubt..lol) The biggest clue i was being followed came when i took this right hand corner going really fast(my tires squealed) and the pickup fishtailed around it behind me, thats when i got a little spooked.... Anyway, just thought i'd share an interesting event of the evening.

That's some crazy stuff.

During this year's spring break from college, I drove by some girl pretty slowly in the parking lot of an Applebee's around 12:30 am, as she was getting into her Ford F-series 4wd pickup truck. Apparantly, she thought I was giving her the eye (I was looking at some other girl in another car nearby). The next thing I know, I'm proceeding through a large mall parkinglot (adjacent to the first one) with an F-250 from the mid-90s tailgating me.

So I did the sensible thing. I jammed the throttle down in the 740 Turbo to the kickdown switch and shot away after a moment of turbo lag. Over the next 5 minutes, I learned how well a Volvo 740 slides sideways with worn tires on wet pavement with the turbo on boost, and how easy a RWD car is to steer with the throttle. No ABS or traction control on this beast to interfere with things here.

End result, I slalomed around a lot of buildings and TOTALLY ran away from her in the turns (despite running a worn set of skinny 195-60 HR-15 tires) in the car. I also witnessed how easily a V-8 pickup with no weight in the pack will go sideways. I finally ditched the girl by hiding in a cul-de-sac in a nearby subdivision with my lights off. Hey, hide and go seek can still be fun.

Wow... a burly chick in an F250 pickup... that's one rough chick I'm sure...

For some reason, young girls in their trucks (raised pickups, usually pimped out) bother me! I see most of them getting trucks, and raising them to attempt to give off that "tough" image... grrr!!

Scary sitch!!

the closest i came to home was about 5 blocks. That actually happened to my brother, he had an 89 dodge omni with two twelves and a nice amp and headunit. Evidentally someone had followed him home who had "heard" him and when he woke up his head unit and amp was gone. That was actually the first thought on my mind as i had my system up pretty loud. even if i went home the joke would be on them though as my car is kept in a garage, and the house has an alarm. lol

That actually happened to my dad. He had a '74 VW Bug (later became my first car) that he had a decent radio and speakers in. He was driving home with Jimi Hendrix blastin' out the speakers...came out the next day and the radio was gone. The speakers were there (in fact, I think he still has them), but the thiefs used the flashlight I had given him for Christmas the last year to take the radio. The flashlight was gone too.

I heard of a guy who came up with an innovative way to keep people from stealing his radio. He took the metal case off and put sharp fish hooks in so the sides, top, and bottom of the radio was covered in 'em. One day he had to remove the radio and found some small chunks of human flesh in a couple hooks...fortunately, this was before the days of burglars suing legitimate owners 'cause it was harder to steal something *lol*

Sam—

Is running away from such a willing and eager girl really the "sensible thing"?!

And the Volvo 740 Turbo is a great Q-car. My dad had an 740 Turbo estate car when I passed my test. It was pretty wild, with massive turbo lag and comedy handling. It used to scare the crap out of Golf GTis and BMW 318s!

Well, she seemed pretty eager, and she wasn't too bad looking, either.

But she made the mistake of driving a full-size Ford pickup. If I had looked at that girl and blasted away like I did, and 20 seconds later, a 400E had come screaming up on my tail, it would have been like "geez, where you been all my life, girl?"

Plus, I kind of wanted to see how the 740 would do in a car chase. I think I had been watching Ronin a few too many times around then and took it a bit literally that night.

Did the European 740 turbo have a good deal more hp than the US version? The car that I drive has something like 160 hp and 181 lbs feet of torque, but curb weight is a little over 2900 pounds. It's got some serious midrange power.

I think the euro 740 turbo had 182bhp and about 190lb/ft torque, but it would have been a much lighter car than the US model: no electric seats, no air con, and no catalytic converter.

Hey sam, if she was good looking, who cares if its a ford pickup or a yugo.

I would have at least talked to her, but then again, I like talking to as many good looking women as I can find.

While in Nebraska I was driving my uncles new Yukon XL when some people figured they would mess with my cousins and me. Why I have no clue but anyway they were in a little cavlier (the rice of small town Nebraska) Tail gating a truck 3 times there size and screaming stuff out of the window.
Brakes work pretty well lots of power to spin those rear tires to
Why people think following someone else will solve anything I will never understand

Fellas, she was good looking, but a little countrified for my tastes.

The F-250 only served to hammer that point home all the further.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
