Front-end vibration

Hi everyone!
Wonderful to have found this forum.

My first question.
The 81/ 300SDL came equipped with 15in wheels
of about 1992 vintage.
I have had this car 3 years. There is a noticeable vibration in the front-end at speeds over 100km.
I have changed tires 3 times.(now running Michelins) Front end has been checked.Steering box is ok.
Rear axles and driveshaft are in balance.
The shop where the balancing is done uses the machine which also measures road force. The tires are well matched.
It has been suggested that the offset is different from the original 14in wheels.
Any ideas anyone. I would like to keep the 15in alloys as they make the car look much sharper.(younger too)
Thanks. Gus

Check the lower control arm bushings. They will make it vibrate big time.

Great news!
Was due for tire rotation, so I decided to look for the problem as Tank suggested.
That was'nt it.

But........ we found it. Someone had mounted aluminum spacers on the front hubs.
3 years of searching for the problem and there it was.
Removed! Remounted and we have a smooooth ride.

I guess I owe a vote of thanks to the forum.

Cheers
Gus
