Part number difference
I live in Canada & if I enquire about the part for my '97 E320 in the States the numbers are different than in Canada for the same part. Could anyone tell me why??
|
Hi Richard , welcome to the forum. Many parts are different simply because we're metric here and they still haven't converted in the US.I've taken numbers from here to the dealer and some match and others not.MB Canada is totally seperate from MBUSA so the parts network imports directly from Germany.Try this link for aftermarket parts at Cdn prices.

I would think a MB part number is a MB part number. Just about every part on my TD has a part number like xxx xxx xx xx. I don't see them stamping different part numbers based on what country the car is going to.

Hi Rick, I don't think the same part has different numbers , some parts go on the car depending on it's export country's emissions laws, lighting laws,etc.,etc.

Richard,
Can you provide an example? Sixto 91 300SE 87 300SDL |
