Question 300SEL no longer starts at first crank

Hi everyone, I have a 1988 300sel with 190k and recently it requires second crank to start. I've installed platinum plugs but didn't fix the problem. Some times I hear a back fire the first time I turn the key then starts fine the second time. The car runs fine otherwise. Could this be a fuel pressure problem? or maybe wires and distribuitor? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Armind

From what I have been reading Plat. plugs cause this in Bmw's like mine. It may be similar with MB's. Check your plug wires and ignition coil.
