Sprinter van to be built in south Ga

Here is the latest economic news for the area. Sounds like a good place for a "start up" company to convert these babies for conversion vans doesn't it. Wonder how hard it would be to get "rejected" engines for cheap?

O.K. Here's the plan....

We get jobs there, move to the tree farm in Soperton and commute on I16 in the SL AMG we bought through the employee purchase plan!! Yeah, that's the ticket!!

Cap'n - I was thinking about starting up a facility to modify and sell Sprinter "conversion" vans. I think there is a mkt out there for it. I already have quite a bit of land that is adjacent to I16 and have contacted some friends to discuss the possibility. I'll keep you posted off line if interested.

The Sprinter with the high roof is the perfect choice for conversions. It has plenty of torque so it can pull horse trailers. Nice open "floorplan" and a reliable engine. What more can one ask for? Plus lifetime roadside assistance? Wow!

I think you're really on to a great idea with converting Sprinters. Check out www.mobile.de. Do a search on wohnmobile/wohnwagen to see the variety of European conversions. James Cook has a good reputation for converting Mercedes over there. You should get some good ideas. Compare what you're doing to the Winnebago Rialta VW conversion.
