Rice HP race
I read Autoweek ,Road and Track,Car and Driver ect. I can hardly belive the HP figures of the parade of new so called luxury sport sedans.Seems like they are likely to be stuck with lots full of these high priced MB want to be's with our roller coaster stock market and talk of high prices at the pump. what's it like to drive a FWD high Hp sedan? think I'll stick to being pushed along in my faithfull MB's.......

Do you mean about the G35, the new GS300 & Acura TL? Down here in LA there are LOTS of these cars running around. Don't know where all these people are getting the money to aquire these cars (business is somewhat bad down here). There are even a lot of those new 7 Series BMWs.
But I'm beginning to beliveve that all the added electronic complexity has got to give you problems down the road. Drove an I30 just last week (wife's 1gen Q was at the dealer for service). What a pile! Actually it would be OK if it was say $16K. Yes it is quick off the line. But the interior looked/felt really cheap. I do find that the higher end Japanses luxury cars - latest Q45 (not the 2nd gen POS) & Lexus are of good quality. The leather may not hold up as well as MBZ but I do think the rest of the interior trim and paint is up to snuff. My wife's 1st Gen Q45 is doing really well even after 103K. Yes leather on drivers side is starting to wear but the rest of the car is holding up really well. |

William, my wife drives a 2001 Acura TL and it has a lot of power, great car overall. However, the leather on the driver's side is wearing to brown in a couple of spots! I am going to have it replaced perhaps under warranty. There's no way it will hold up like my mb's leather. I have no idea why though..
