HAAhahahaaahaa.....Election humor!

I read this today, and with the elections only a few days away, I couldn't resist posting it here!

To be a Democrat, you have to believe that ….

1. The AIDS virus is spread by a lack of funding.
2. Trial lawyers are selfless heroes and that doctors are
overpaid.
3. Global temperatures are affected more by a suburban soccer mom driving an SUV than by documented, cyclical variations in the brightness and intensity of the sun.
4. Guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than nuclear, chemical and biological weapons in the hands of Saddam Hussein.
5. Businesses create oppression and government creates prosperity.
6. Self-esteem is more important than doing anything to earn it.
7. There was no art before federal funding.
8. The NRA is a bad organization because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution, but the ACLU is a good organization because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution.
9. Taxes are too low but ATM fees are too high.
10. Standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas are not.
11. ANY change in the weather is proof of global warming.
12. National wealth is determine by what we consume, not by what we produce.
13. The only wars in which America should become involved are those in which our national security is not at risk.
14. Perjury and obstruction of justice are impeachable if a Republican president commits them but a harmless, private matter if a Democrat president commits them.
15. America can have a strong military without spending money on it.
16. The way to improve public school is to give more money and power to the very people who have misused that power and money to destroy the public schools.
17. Hunters and fishermen do not care about the environment but pasty-faced activists that rarely venture out-of-doors do.
18. A bureaucrat living in Washington, D.C. can make better decisions about how to spend the money that you earn than you can.
19. Being a movie or television star qualifies you to speak out on public policy.
20. Hillary Clinton is a wonderful example for young women of feminine independence even though she has never accomplished anything worthwhile without riding on the coattails of her husband.
21. A handful of religious wackos living in rural Texas are more of a threat to public safety than Islamic terrorists who wish to plant bombs in major American cities.
22. Passing new laws is a much better way to curb crime than enforcing the existing ones.
23. Tax cut are for people who don’t actually pay income taxes.

If you believe all or most of the things on this list to be true...then go ahead...vote Democrat...You deserve it!

If they keep voting for higher taxes, they definitely won't be able to afford one!

I used to be a Democrat.

I liked Ronald Reagan and George Bush was O.K. But I just couldn't associate myself with Billary Clinton and Al Bore!!:p

You might want to pay a little more attention, Snibble...Did I say anywhere in my post that I'm a Republican? I don't think so....And please elaborate on why you think geography has something to do with someone's political outlook. I'd be very interested to know!... I think your *18 year-old college student* signature explains a lot about why you are apparently very quick to assume things, and quick to jump to the defense of democrats!

Let's try this again.

AP Political Government was a required class for me, and I learned that the south used to be Democratic. However, in the last 50 years or so... the South has become more and more Republican. Hey.. its all right if I get shots from you like that.. I don't mind it unless its personal so I won't respond to that.

And in this corner!!!!!!

Easy friends, this is all in fun(I hope)!! I didn't take offense to Snibble's response, but FYI, the Deep South is still heavily Democratic. You will be hard pressed to find a Republican anywhere under the governership in any of the Southern states. We tend to vote for Republican candidates for President because we KNOW what these Southern Democrats did when they were governors. Jimmy Carter didn't win Georgia in his bid for the presidency. We remembered his governorship.

Global warming is no joke. Environmental problems are like smoking cigarettes. You wont experience the adverse effects immediately but after time you are bound to face the bleak deadly side effects. Global Warming has been increasing about 2-3 degrees in the past century. But, don't let that diminutive value fool you. 2-3 degrees is not really a big deal for even glacier's melting but the biggest peril caused by global warming is increasing the temperatures of the ocean.

CO2 is only slightly soluble in water, increase the temperature of water and the CO2 will bubble out. Once CO2 bubbles out, that means less CO2 available for plants, thus less photosynthesis which will make less oxygen. Killing all underwater animals and plants immediately.!! Okay, we have a sea of dead fish, that is only the good part. The massive amounts of CO2 that will bubble out is poisenous. This scenario happened to a city in africa in which the local lake became too hot, CO2 bubbled out forming a cloud of death and since it was more dense than air it just hovered on the ground killing about a thousand people. .

I am a republican and Environmental problems should not be made a party debate for the sake of mankind. Global warming is facilitated by burning of fossil fuels, plain and simple. Any denial is akin to the tobacco industry saying nicotine is not addictive. (Don't get too used to those fuels, either. They will be depleted in about 50 years.) So next time you see those monstrosity of automotive design Ford Excursion or the civilian humvee with one person inside, they're accelerating our unavoidable destruction of man kind. Why do I say unavoidable, because our country as a whole will never adopt a way of life that rids itself of consumerism, excess and basically ease of life. By the way, I agree with the rest of the list.

early morning thoughts on the subject

Personally, I hate what is happening to the environment and feel we are essentially s*^&ing in our nest so to speak. I think one of the answers is $5.00/gallon fuel cost but to the politicians - that is political suicide.

The native American Indians had the right idea but they were slaughtered off because they were "savages" and did not have the same beliefs as the folks that eliminated them and took their land. On the same hand try to tell ANY modern American woman we are going to go back to living like the indians and you will see the savage come out.

On a lighter note - when all this happens will the new Ga coastline be in Eastman, Ga? If it is then Stephen will be set in his new oceanfront property.

Snibble, I don't take any of this stuff personally. Anyway, I fired the "18-yr. old" shot across the bow, because I consider it a "shot" fired in my direction when someone assumes I'm a Republican (or anything else) just because I currently live in the south. I base my political stance on what I BELEIVE in and what I KNOW to be true, not on where I live.

As far as the environment...oh, here we go again. Obviously we need to care for and preserve our environment in reasonable and responsible ways, but assuming that we humans have made such enormous global changes all on our own in a matter of just a few years is a very reactionist, limited, and even arrogant way of thinking. There are temperature cycles in our atmosphere, oceans, planet core, and the sun that we do not even come CLOSE to understanding yet, because the scientific community has not EXISTED long enough to study such long-term cycles!

When a large volcano such as Mt. St. Helens erupts, it spews more greenhouse gases and particulates into the atmosphere in a matter of a DAY, or less, than humans have EVER generated since we have existed! So why is it not an apocalyptic event every time a large volcano erupts? Why do the ice caps not melt? Why do the fishes and frogs not die? Our planet is far more adaptable and enduring than the enviro-nazis give it credit for. There have been ice ages, heat waves, asteroid impacts, all before humans were a factor AT ALL...

To think that we're going to bring about the "end of the world" by letting the soccer-moms drive around in their SUVs is pretty naive, don't you think?

You are suggesting that we wait a thousand years to record all the data and then suddenly get enviro-conscious. Solubility of gases that are only barely soluble in water is affected by temperatures. This is a proven fact, you don't believe me, take some soda water and heat it up. The gas in soda is carbonate which has a negative charge C03 which makes it more soluble that co2 because it is attracted to the slightly positive Hydrogen of H20, the gas dissolved in the oceans is CO2. Photosynthesis requires CO2, less CO2 dissoved means less photosynthesis, less photosynthesis produces less oxygen. Fish require oxygen, no oxygen means dead fish.

I'm not disputing your physics...I'm disputing the claim that humans are causing all, or even any, of the temp. changes that everyone panics about. So, I'll ask again...Why does none of that happen when a large volcano erupts and emits more "pollution" than humans EVER have?
