i can help u i know a hotel in a village in amsterdam not a place where u have much people
in the west of amsterdam and the train is not far too i live there so i know almost hole amsterdam to go to the city u can take the train and have a nice day its 30 minutes with the train ( i mean train in the city not a lang distance train )

hey rich, try using your AAA Card with some hotels to get discounts. My brother and I managed to geta nice room in the holiday in for real cheap that way.

other option my brother and I used once we went there as well was to stay in this indian hotel int he red light district. it was cheap, and really how much time did we spend in the room itself? maybe a few hours to sleep, thats about it.
