Insurance Advice please
I recently reinsured my 1987 190e after eight months, I received a letter from my insurance company asking me how many miles I would put on the car over the next 12 months.
Does anyone know why they would ask this question. I won't put a lot of miles on the car since the car is just for going to the grocery store, pet store e.t.c. It's uncomfortable fitting my kid, wife and future kid wife in it so I only drive it once in a while. Probably only 1200 miles. They did not ask this question during the two years I had the car insured with them. Thanks for any advice |

Thanks, the reason I was asking was because I thought maybe if the mileage I told them was too low, they might want to make my policy a limited one or something similar.
Thanks for the advice and please keep the posts coming, more advice never hurts. |

my insurance has 3 cutoffs- if I use a car to commute to work every day the 3 categories are : a) less than 3 miles (one way), less than 15 miles, more than 25 miles.
If the car is primary or leisure (less than 5K mi/year- see my Grand Wag) and who is the primary driver. they start with the highest rates and then give discounts. BTW when I bought my 190 the lady asked me how many miles was on it when I told her 92 K, she said "Oh, just off it's break in period!"
